It was not meant to be for Belgium and it was evident as the side missed some crucial chances against Croatia to get knocked out of FIFA World Cup 2022. The World No 2 side needed a win to advance into the next round but Romelu Lukaku missed a string of late chances and ended up playing a goalless draw against Croatia.
The result was enough to send 2018 runners-up Croatia into the next round along with Morocco who won 2-1 against Canada in their final group-stage game. Lukaku personally had a terrible day on the field as he misses three chances to score for his side.
The striker was unconsolable after the defeat and even broke the glass of the dugout in anger and frustration.
