Rory Burns fumbles and misses key run-out of Michael Jones during quarterfinal clash
The quarter-finals clash saw the Surrey wicketkeeper-batter Rory Burns fumbling and missing a key run-out of Michael Jones. The incident took place during the 15th over of Durham’s innings. Tom Curran bowled a wide yorker that Bas de Leede stoked to the cover region, where Will Jacks made a dive and tried to save some runs. The batters made the most use of it and ran between the wickets to collect some runs.
Jacks collected the ball and threw it to the right hand, where Burns was all ready to dislodge the bails. However, the wicketkeeper seemed to be in so much hurry that he ended up not collecting the ball and hit the stumps with his gloves. By the time he could make up for his mistake, the batter returned to the crease.
Speaking of the match, Dom Sibley and Sum Curran came up with fifties helping Surrey to chase down the total with two overs to spare.
