On Thursday, November 28, Manchester United defeated Bodo/Glimt 3-2 after going a goal down in their latest UEFA Europa League (UEL) 2024-25 clash, which was the first home game as the club’s head coach for Ruben Amorim. After a close win at the Old Trafford in Manchester, the 39-year-old was seen taking the adulation of the United faithfuls from the touchline before heading into the team’s dressing room.
In the first minute, Manchester United took the lead in the contest after Rasmus Hojlund managed to steal a ball from the Bodo/Glimt defender before Alejandro Garnacho had an open goal, and he tapped the ball into the back of the net with great ease. The visitors made a sparkling comeback, scoring two goals within five minutes, to take a 2-1 lead to the shock of many at the Old Trafford.

But, in the closing stage of the first half, Rasmus Hojlund scored a sensational equaliser from a Noussair Mazraoui pass, putting the ball in between two Bodo/Glimt defenders before it managed to sneak into the far corner past the outstretched hand of the goalie. During the second half, the Danish international gave Manchester United a much deserved 3-2 lead after tapping the ball into the back of the net after Manuel Ugarte found him inch perfect from the right.
In the post-match press conference, Ruben Amorim admitted about being anxious before the game since he hasn’t got the chance to work much with his players. He was quoted as saying, as per TNT Sports, “I get anxious because I don't know what will happen. We don't control anything at the moment. I don't know the players and we have not worked a lot together. We go to the game excited, but at the same time you are nervous because you don't know how the game will go.”
