Sri Lankan batter Sadeera Samarawickrama pulled off an incredible diving catch to dismiss Zimbabwean captain Craig Ervine in the second ODI at the R.Premadasa Stadium, Colombo. After electing to bat first, Zimbabwe got into early trouble as Tinashe Kamunhukamwe was dismissed by Dilshan Madhushanka on the third ball of the innings.

Rescuing the side, Craig Ervine stepped up and held the innings from one end. The Zimbabwean captain stitched up several partnerships with other batters as the Chevrons moved towards a respectable total. But with a regular fall of wickets, Ervine, nearing a fighting century, tried to take on Dushmantha Chameera. As the ball flew towards the point region, Samarawickrama threw in a full-length drive and completed a stunning one-handed catch.

After Craig Ervine's wicket, the batting lineup fell apart like nine pins as Zimbabwe was all out at 208 in 44 overs. The last four batters combined to score seven runs as Maheesh Theekshana ended up with a four-wicket haul. Supporting the off-spinner, Dushmantha Chameera and Jeffrey Vandersay picked up two wickets each, while Madhushanaka finished with figures of one for 24 in seven overs.

Talking about this series, Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka are slated to play three ODIs and three T20Is in Colombo. The first match of the tour was abandoned due to rain. After this ongoing fixture, both teams will lock horns in the third ODI on January 11, while the T20Is kick off on January 16.
