Young Indian batter Sai Sudharsan continued his dream international debut against South Africa as he completed a stunning half-century in 41 balls. Sudharshan became the 400th cricketer to play ODI cricket for India as the Men in Blue took on the Proteas to kick off the three-game series in Johannesburg. In the first innings, Team India ran through the South Africa batting to bundle out the hosts at 116 in 27.3 overs.

Then in the second innings,  Sai Sudharsan started his international with a boundary and surged forward. Batting with fellow youngster Ruturaj Gaikwad, the young opening duo could only manage 23 runs before the Maharashtra batter was out LBW against  Wiaan Mulder. 

Sudharsan then stitched up a crucial 88-run stand with Shreyas Iyer as the Tamil Nadu star reached his milestone. Batting at 45 in the 16th over,  Sudharsan drilled  Andile Phehlukwayo for boundary and then pulled the ball towards deep square to complete his half-century.

Then in the next over,  Sudharsan hit  Nandre Burger for a boundary and then levelled the scores with a single before Tilak Varma gloved the ball towards fine leg to clinch the game by eight wickets. The true star of this performance for India was fast bowler Arshdeep Singh, who picked up 5/37 and took home the Player of the Match award.
