During the high-octane clash between India and Pakistan in the ODI World Cup 2023, the Bollywood actor was present in the Star Sports studio to promote his upcoming movie “Tiger 3.” In the live mid-innings show, when the 57-year-old had to give names of his famous characters in movies to the cricketers, he called Virat Kohli “Dabangg” and Rohit Sharma “Bajrangi Bhaijaan.”

Both these senior players of the Indian cricket team truly exemplified the character names given by Salman Khan, against Pakistan, on October 14, during the ODI World Cup 2023 encounter. Virat Kohli was exceptional in the field from the beginning of Pakistan’s innings, setting the tone for the Men in Blue, while Rohit Sharma showcased the best of his captaincy skills to help manufacture a collapse from 155-2 to 191 all out.

In the batting department, Rohit Sharma was instrumental for Team India in chasing down the 192 target with seven wickets in hand. He scored 86 off 63 balls with six fours and six maximums, while Virat Kohli got a quick-fire 16 in the first powerplay stage too.

When asked about the attributes of Virat Kohli, Salman Khan was quoted as saying, “Har cheez hai unme. Physically fit hai, mentally strong hai, dedicated hai, apne kaam ko seriously lete hai. Aur India ke liye khelte hai, wo apne liye khelte hai (He has everything. (He) is physically fit, mentally strong, dedicated, takes his work seriously. And (he) plays for India, he plays for himself.)”

On the question of giving names of his famous characters in movies to the cricketers, Salman Khan thought for a split second before calling Virat Kohli “Dabangg,” while he hailed Rohit Sharma as “Bajrangi Bhaijaan.” Moreover, the Indian cricket team is set to play their next fixture in the ODI World Cup 2023 against Bangladesh on October 19, at the MCA Stadium in Pune.
