The Rohit Sharma-led Team India is taking on England in the fifth and final Test of the series after having already clinched the series in Ranchi. With the series moving to the final Test, India handed a debut cap Karnataka batter Devdutt Padikkal, and handing five debuts overall in the series.
While Rajat Patidar was the first player, Sarfaraz Khan and Dhruv Jurel made a debut in the third Test in Rajkot with Akash Deep getting the cap in the fourth Test. However, Rajat Patidar could not capitalise on the opportunities, making way for Padikkal, Sarfaraz Khan has become a vital cog after some crucial performances. On Friday, March 8, he scored his third fifty against England in Dharamsala and had a special celebration.
Just before Tea on Day 2, Khan smashed Shoaib Bashir for four runs, reaching his third Test fifty in as many games. The 26-year-old was all smiles as he raised his bat high, but what caught the eyeballs was a kiss towards his wife, who was seated in the box.
