Sarfaraz Khan successfully convinced Indian skipper Rohit Sharma to take a successful DRS call to dismiss Will Young on day 1 of the second Test against New Zealand at Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune. During the first session of day 1, Will Young attempted to play a shot on Ravichandran Ashwin’s delivery on leg side but was caught by Rishabh Pant behind the stumps. After taking the catch, Pant didn’t make any appeal immediately, but Sarfaraz, who was fielding at short leg was convinced that the ball has touched the bat.
Sarfaraz Khan started appealing as soon as the ball was caught by Rishabh Pant. He directly went to Rohit Sharma and tried convincing him to take a review. In a viral video, Virat Kohli was also seen talking to Rohit and convincing him for a review. The Indian skipper was finally convinced and called for a DRS. During the review process, it was found that there has been a very slight edge, as the ball had got a small knick off the glove. In the end, Will Young was declared out and the decision received an applause from both commentators and the fans.
