Former New Zealand cricketer and commentator Scott Styris gave a correct prediction of Jake Fraser McGurk’s wicket during the clash against Rajasthan Royals. The accurate prediction left his fellow commentators Shane Watson and Graeme Smith surprised. Delhi Capitals clashed against Rajasthan Royals on May 7, Tuesday, at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi. The game saw Rishabh Pant-led side defeat the inaugural IPL winners by a margin of 20 runs. During the game, commentator Styris predicted the wicket of DC’s McGurk.
The former Kiwi cricketer, who is a part of Jio Cinema’s commentary panel predicted Fraser-McGurk would lose a wicket, which eventually came true right on the next ball. The DC batter was on 50 when he lost his wicket to RR’s star spinner Ravichandran Ashwin. Styris had told Watson and Smith, “I have decided to go wicket alert because once again I think Jake Fraser-McGurk was gonna look to be aggressive and will he be able to just pick the carrom ball of Ashwin.”
The DC opener lost his wicket right on the next ball which left Styris overjoyed, and his co-commentators stunned.
Sanju Samson was out: Shane Watson on umpires making right decision during DC vs RR
Former Australia cricketer Shane Watson gave his verdict on the controversial dismissal of RR captain Sanju Samson. He claimed on Jio Cinema, “It appeared as if there may have been a disturbance on the boundary. The fielder appeared to have avoided touching the rope from the camera’s angle. There, it was touch and go, but swift movement on the rope by Shai Hope, it was an amazing catch.”
He added, “Additionally, you can see Parth Jindal, one of DC’s owners, voicing openly about the decision. Although there was some disagreement at the end, I think the third umpire made the correct call. There was no doubt about the decision since it was crystal clear.”
