During a live interview, Sergio Ramos was spotted shouting at his fans, telling them to “shut up” after Sevilla lost 2-0 to Athletic Bilbao in La Liga. When the 37-year-old was speaking about the disappointing performance of Sevilla, a fan tried to take their anger out on him, which led to the Spanish defender giving back a fiery response.

At the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan on Thursday, January 4, the hosts Sevilla were no match to the highly impressive Athletic Bilbao, who were excelling at playing on the counters with limited ball possession. Mikel Vesga’s goal in the first half, followed by Aitor Paredes’ strike in the second half gave Athletic Bilbao the victory, which put them in the top four of La Liga on goal difference.
After Sevilla suffered their ninth loss in 19 matches in La Liga, Sergio Ramos fronted up to give an interview about the defeat to DAZN, but his attention was quickly turned away by fans seemingly voicing their displeasure at the performance of the team. While looking at the crowd in the grandstand, he said, “Show a little respect we're talking. Have some respect for people and the (Sevilla) badge, we're talking. Respect people, go on, shut up and walk away.”

In their 19 La Liga matches in the 2023-24 season, Sevilla have registered three wins, which has put them just one point above the relegation zone. In the past year, the club has already sacked two managers, namely Jose Luis Mendilibar and Diego Alonso, appointing Quique Sanchez Flores last December to turn their fortunes around.
