The Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2024 has already reached its half-way mark with Delhi Capitals Women and Mumbai Indians Women going neck-and-neck in the competition. On Tuesday, March 5, the finalists of the inaugural edition of the WPL, once again locked horns at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.

However, the top two sides played the tournament opener of WPL, they took on each other in a reverse fixture which saw the Delhi Capitals Women come out on top and consolidate their position on the top of the table. The match also saw some records being etched in the tournament’s history, whereas there were some heated moments also that took place.

Among many such was Mumbai Indians Women pacer, Shabnim Ismail’s furious sendoff. Indian batter Shafali Verma, who was on strike, smashed Ismail for back-to-back sixes. But what followed was her wicket on the third delivery of the over with the Protean pacer ending the Indian batter’s inning short after having scored 28 runs off 12 deliveries. Things did not end here as the Protean gave a furious send off, releasing her frustration as she can be heard saying “F**k off”.
