But Islamabad captain Shadab Khan had a brilliant moment when he came in to bowl the 13th over of the innings. As he came to the crease, Khan announced on the stump mic that he will dismiss opposition captain Babar Azam before bowling the first ball.
Surprisingly, Khan fulfilled his promise and bowled googly on the last ball of the over and dismissed Babar. The Zalmi captain tried to flick the ball away but missed it. Here Shadab appealed for the LBW. Umpire immediately raised his finger as Azam was plum in front of the stumps.

But despite this wicket, Khan and Islamabad United couldn’t beat Peshawar Zalmi and were eliminated from the tournament. After Azam’s dismissal, Zalmi went on to post 183 in their 20 overs. Then in the second innings, Islamabad got off to a great start with Alex Hales and Sohaib Maqsood, scoring half-centuries.
But United’s middle order fell apart as Aamer Jamal and Salman Irshad picked up key wickets. In the end, Shadab Khan once again fired with the bat as he put up 26 in 12 balls which included three fours and one six.
