The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 is all set to get underway in a few hours’ time. Defending champions, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) will be playing the opening match against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. While the clash is looming under rain threat, KKR co-owner and Bollywood celebrity star, Shah Rukh Khan was seen giving a pep talk to the members of the team.

Fondly called as “King Khan” by his fans, the actor wished players to be “happy and healthy” as they begin the campaign tonight at their home ground. It is to be noted that Shah Rukh Khan arrived in Kolkata on Friday, March 21, a day prior to the tournament start.

In a video shared on KKR’s social media handles, the Bollywood sensation said, "God bless you. Please be healthy, be happy.” “And thank you, Chandu sir, for looking after them. Welcome aboard to the new members. Thank you, Ajinkya, for joining us and being a captain. God bless you, and I hope you will find a good home here and play well with all of us. Have a good evening, a good match, and be healthy," he continued, wishing them for a successful season.

It is to be seen that Shah Rukh Khan will be a part of the grand opening ceremony in the City of Joy. He is expected to kick off things with a monologue, leading to mega celebrations. Besides him, singer Shreya Ghosal, rapper Karan Aujla and actor Disha Patni are also expected to take the stage in the opening ceremony at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
