The finalists of the Pakistan Super League 2023 are here. While Multan Sultans beat Lahore Qalandars in the Qualifier to book the first berth, Shaheen Afridi-led Lahore Qalandars then defeated Peshawar Zalmi on Friday (March 17) in Eliminator 2 to reach the last stage of the tournament.
While there was sudden disappointment among the Peshawar Zalmi fans, the defending champions’ happiness was unstoppable. But all was well until Lahore Qalandars skipper went to console Peshawar Zalmi skipper Babar Azam after the match. The video of the same is now doing rounds on social media.

Talking about the match, Babar Azam won the toss and elected to bat first. The side posted 171/5 in their 20 over quota. Mohammad Harris (85 off 54 deliveries) and Babar Azam (36-ball 25) were the two highest scorers with the bat in this innings. However, Azam’s side failed to restrict the Shaheen Afridi-led side as they defended the target in just 18.5 overs.
Moreover, talking about the Pakistan and Peshawar Zalmi skipper, Babar Azam scored 522 runs across 11 matches in the PSL at an average of 52.20 and a strike rate of 145.40. Azam also took to social media to credit his team’s efforts during the PSL 2023.
