After which Afghanistan could only score 218 runs in 45.1 overs. Liton Das was awarded the Player of the Match title. However, an incident happened during the match which is set to be remembered by the cricketing world for a long time. In fact, Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan set an example by presenting the spirit of the game.
Last year, Shakib misbehaved and hit the stump on the ground, the video of which became very viral on social media. That behavior of Shakib was widely condemned. But in the second ODI played at Zahoor Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium, Chattogram, he won the hearts of the fans by showing what sportsmanship is all about.

Shakib was bowling the 17th over of Afghanistan’s innings, in the same over, Afghan batsman Najibullah hit a shot on the third ball and the ball went to the stump at the non-striker end, where non-striker batsman Rahmat was present at the crease. The ball went from between his hands and hit the stumps at the nonstrikers' end, after which the players appealed for running out, in such a situation the umpire declared Rahmat out. In fact, the third umpire also after watching the replays found that the ball is in Shakib’s hand and the batsman has not been able to reach the crease.
HERE IS THE VIDEO OF THE INCIDENT:
When the third umpire gave the Afghanistan batsman run out, Shakib spoke to his teammate Tamim Iqbal and withdrew the run-out appeal. Shakib directly told the umpire that the ball was not hit in his hand. Shakib was not completely sure that the ball was actually in his hand. By then Rahmat had almost left the crease and returned to Pavilion, but then Bangladesh withdrew their appeal post which the batsman returned to his crease.
The final ODI will be played on Monday and Bangladesh will look to whitewash the Afghans in this format of the game.
