The NBA legend and analyst Shaquille O’Neal had Nikola Jokic cracking up, after saying “Volim te , ” which means “I love you” in Serbian, the native language of Denver Nuggets superstar. The moment happened during the game break for Denver Nuggets and Los Angeles Lakers at the Ball Arena on the opening night of the NBA for the 2023-24 season.

Nikola Jokic, who was seemingly touched with the gesture made on “Inside the NBA” show, responded, “Good job Shaq,” before he complimented Shaquille O’Neal for his suit by saying, “I love the suit, really good suit.” The Denver Nuggets centre also asked the four-time NBA champion to do something different the next time.

The game on the NBA opening night belonged to the Denver Nuggets, who got the better of the Los Angeles Lakers at the Ball Arena by 119-107, to go 1-0 up. Nikola Jokic was the best performer among both franchises, scoring 29 points, with 13 rebounds and 11 assists to his name.

The 34-20 lead in the first quarter was the decisive factor for the Nuggets to clinch their first win of the 2023-24 season. The Lakers had the better of the second and third quarter, to close the gap with their opponents, but the Nuggets finished the game strongly in the fourth quarter to secure the victory.
