The second match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024, which is being played between the Punjab Kings (PBKS) and the Delhi Capitals (DC) at the newly constructed Maharaja Y.S. International Stadium in Mullanpur, Chandigarh saw Delhi openers give a much-needed start. Earlier in the match, the Shikhar Dhawan-led PBKS won the toss and invited the Rishabh Pant's DC to put the score first on the board.
However, the opening pair of David Warner and Mitchell Marsh gave a head start to the Delhi-based franchise, but fall of wickets at regular intervals helped the PBKS to tighten the leak of runs going forward. In the 16th over of the DC innings, Shashank Singh hogged the eyeballs for completing a brilliant running catch to dismiss Tristan Stubbs.
Rahul Chahar, who returned to the attack to bowl the 16th over, bowled a gentle inside out. However, Stubbs opted to play a lot straighter as he holed it out over long on, Shashank Singh, was swift to cover the distance towards his left and complete a fine catch.
