India recently named its 15-member squad for the upcoming ODI World Cup 2023 along with Ajit Agarkar and skipper Rohit Sharma in attendance. While KL Rahul got his place back in the side, Shikhar Dhawan, Yuzvendra Chahal and Sanju Samson were some notable names missing out.

This disappointment of omission of Dhawan and Chahal was visible among the cricket fans and enthusiast as especially the Indian opener missed a place for the first time in 10 years for an ICC ODI tournament. However, this snub looks not much to have impacted the Delhi-born player as he earlier sent his wishes for the side for the marquee tournament.

However, in the latest update, the cricketer was spotted offering prayers at a jyotirling temple. Dhawan joined famous Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar to offer prayers at the Mahakaleshwar Temple in Ujjain. The two stars of the country sat in the Nandi Hall for the ‘Bhasma Aarti’.

Talking more about Dhawan, the 37-year-old took to X, formerly knock as Twitter to congratulate all the players and wish them luck for the event. “Congratulations to my fellow teammates & friends chosen to represent India in the WC 2023 tournament! With the prayers and support of 1.5 billion people, you carry our hopes and dreams. May you bring the cup back home and make us proud” he captioned.
