Rajasthan Royals star batter Shimron Hetmyer kick-started the KKR vs RR IPL 2023 fixture with a bang as pulled off a stunning catch to dismiss Jason Roy. After hitting a scintilating boundary over covers thanks to a lofted drive, Roy flicked Boult towards the leg side but failed to control his shot.
Here came Hetmyer storming in across from deep square leg and timing his jump incredibly to ensure that his body didn't take him onto the ropes. He managed to hold on to the ball with an impressive balance to complete a contender for the catch of the tournament award.

With this catch, the Rajasthan Royals gradually asserted their dominance over the Kolkata Knight Riders and restricted the home side to a score of 150. The chief destroyer in this innings was Yuzvendra Chahal, who picked up four wickets and also became the highest run wicket-taker in IPL history. Chahal overtook Dwayne Bravo with a tally of 187 wickets.
Reacting to this feat and his performance in the match, Chahal said, "On this ground, I didn't want to give easy boundaries. Wanted to keep the ball away from the batters. The pitch was slow and aiding me. (On becoming the leading IPL wicket taker) I never thought when I came into the IPL with MI that I’ll get here. I’m here because of all the support I’ve got along the way with family and friends. Definitely grateful to all. I hope we can win today, the batters should be able to get the runs."
