In the match 24 of Indian Premier League, the captain of Royal Challengers Bangalore, Faf Du Plessis won the toss and decided to field first against Chennai Super Kings. His decision was quickly vindicated as Mohammed Siraj dismissed Ruturaj Gaikwad in the third over. CSK’s batting innings got on track with a fantastic 74 run partnership between Devon Conway and Ajinkya Rahane before the latter got dismissed for 34(20).
Shivam Dube walked out to bat at no. 4 for CSK and quickly got on top of the RCB bowlers. Firstly, he hit Glenn Maxwell for a big 101m six that hit the roof of the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. And a couple of over later, Dube smashed a massive 111m six off Harshal Patel that got to the roof of the stadium in Bengaluru too.

The powerful left hander continued with his six hitting masterclass as he put Vijaykumar Vyshak, Mohammed Siraj, and Wayne Parnell into the grandstands. Dube ended up scoring 52 off just 27 deliveries with two fours and five sixes. His innings was crucial for CSK to eventually get their total up to 226/6 after 20 overs.
In the mid innings chat, Shivam Dube talked about his explosive innings and what it means to him to make his return to M. Chinnaswamy Stadium against his former team RCB. He said, “It was amazing for me, playing at this stadium, on this wicket and in front of this crowd. I mentioned it before that I back my strengths and that was what was needed today. Definitely, I believe it is not easy to stop me when I get going, that’s what I believe and the team believes. The size of the ground and the wicket was good, and the freedom I got was something I enjoyed. 226 on any track should be enough, but we need to bowl in the right areas.”
“Since childhood, I have had this power. My dad has given me enough protein because he knows what is needed at this level,” Dube concluded.
