During an intense practice session in Perth ahead of the opening Test of the five-match Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) series, Indian teammates Shubman Gill and Sarfaraz Khan were caught on camera engaging in fun banter. Apart from that, during one point in the session, Sarfaraz Khan hilariously got down on one knee to present the bat to Shubman Gill, keeping the spirits high in the Indian camp ahead of the BGT Test series.
Notably, the first of five Test matches in the BGT Test series between India and Australia will be played from November 22 onwards, at the Optus Stadium in Perth. Both these cricketing nations have already competed against each other once at this venue in Test cricket, which saw Australia defeat India by a big margin of 146 runs in 2018, but still, they went on to lose the Test series 1-2 in their own den.

While Shubman Gill and Sarfaraz Khan were having some fun during the practice session, the Indian cricket team is far from having a good time on the field in recent times. After losing the home Test series for the first-time in 12 years against New Zealand, conceding the series 0-3, the visitors are under pressure to bring their A game to the Australian shores, to have any realistic chance of making it through to the World Test Championship (WTC) final next year at the Lord’s in London.
They need to ensure that Australia aren’t victorious in any of the five Tests against Australia, while finding a way to win at least four of those matches, to reach the WTC final without depending on results of the other teams.
