India batter Shubman Gill scored his maiden international hundred in the ongoing third One-Day International (ODI) against Zimbabwe in Harare. While the right-handed batsman had reached closer to the landmark in the past, he was finally able to breach the three figures mark on Monday.
Gill has shown great form all season and had scored an unbeaten 82 in the opening ODI in which India won by 10 wickets. While he opened the batting in the series opener, KL Rahul decided to come up the order in the second and the third ODIs with Gill coming in at number 3.

Gill bowed down while celebrating his maiden international ton. The Gujarat Titans star is still taking initial strides in international cricket but has already impressed some of the greats of the game with his technique, having played a few match-winning innings already in his young career.
As far as the ongoing series is concerned, India had already clinched the series with one match to go when they won the second ODI and took a 2-0 lead in the 3-match series. In the third ODI too, India posted a strong total after electing to bat first, eventually managing 289/8 with Gill's innings coming to end on 130.
With India's bowlers in great form, seems like the touring party will be able to complete another whitewash in a limited-overs series. India's next assignment will be the Asia Cup 2022 with their first match against arch-rivals Pakistan on August 28.
