During the second T20I of the three-match series between India and England at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, Sophie Ecclestone took a blinder in her follow-through to dismiss Richa Ghosh. After comprehensively winning the first T20I, the England women made a great start in the second match, reducing India to a score of 34-5.

It was the seventh over of the Indian innings when Sophie Ecclestone, the left-arm finger spinner, bowled a flighted delivery, deceiving Richa Ghosh with the late dip of the ball, which led to the right-handed batter forcing it on the up. But, since Ghosh wasn’t completely to the pitch of the ball, she spooned it in the air for Ecclestone to take a smart catch while diving to her left side with her left hand.

Watch Sophie Ecclestone take a blinder:

Earlier, Heather Knight won the toss and chose to bowl first, and her decision was instantly vindicated in the first over when Charlie Dean trapped Shafali Verma for no score in front of the stumps on the second ball of the innings. Just three overs later, Charlie Dean took the wicket of Smriti Mandhana lbw before Nat Sciver-Brunt did the same to Harmanpreet Kaur, the Indian women’s captain, reducing India to 28-3 in the fifth over.

In the sixth and final over of the first powerplay, Deepti Sharma nicked off to Amy Jones without troubling the scorers off the bowling of Lauren Bell. At the score of 33-4 after the first powerplay, the Indian cricket team stared down the barrel in the second T20I against England, and the situation didn’t get any better for them shortly afterward.
