During Pakistan’s pursuit of a 317-run target in the second Test match on day four, Steve Smith was spotted giving Babar Azam some inputs about taking guard on the popping crease in a correct manner. But when Babar Azam asked him to take strike instead, Steve Smith hilariously folded his hands in front of the former Pakistan captain.
Shortly after the amusing moment between two of the modern-day batting greats happened, Babar Azam was castled by a peach of a delivery from Josh Hazlewood for 41 off 79. As the scoreboard read 146/4 in the 41st over of the innings, Pakistan were in a spot of bother, needing 171 more runs to achieve their first Test win on Australian soil in the 21st century.

From this point onwards, the Pakistan batters did manage to reach 219/5, requiring a further 98 runs for victory, but then, the Australian bowlers picked up the last five wickets for just 18 runs. Pat Cummins, the captain of Australia, was the best performer of all the bowlers, taking a five-wicket haul in the second innings to help his team win the second Test match by 79 runs at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) to secure an unassailable 2-0 lead in the series.
The player of the match was also Pat Cummins for his 10 wickets in the Test against an inspired Pakistan cricket team, who put up a brave fight at the MCG. Notably, this was also the second last Test for David Warner in his career after he had announced his retirement from the longest format of the game following the new year’s match at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG).
