After the IPL 2023 fixture against Kolkata Knight Riders, the Chennai Super Kings led by Mahendra Singh Dhoni carried out a celebratory lap at their home ground - MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. Here a heartwarming moment occurred as Indian cricketing legend Sunil Gavaskar rushed through the crowd to get MS Dhoni's autograph.
Obliging to this request, MS Dhoni was seen signing Sunil Gavaskar's shirt after which the pair embraced each other. After this incredible moment, the entire Chennai Super Kings team took the traditional celebratory lap of the MA Chidambaram Stadium to thank fans for their constant support over the 2023 IPL season. The CSK players also sent out customised tennis balls and t-shirts for the crowd as a sign of gratitude.

Before these festivities, Chennai Super Kings were clinically defeated by an all-around effort by the Knight Riders. The bowlers were on point with some incredible performances by Varun Chakaravarthy and Sunil Narine. Then in the second innings, captain Nitish Rana and Rinku Singh's 99-run partnership carried Kolkata to a six-wicket win.
Reacting to this performance, KKR captain Nitish Rana said, "I said at the toss that if all 3 departments do well, our chances are good. Have to give credit to Chandu sir (coach Chandrakant Pandit) for this - I wasn't in favour of taking heavy roller but he insisted to go for it. I feared pitch might break up. But that didn't happen and ball didn't turn much. Every team has home advantage except KKR."
