Replying to a total of 452, Tamil Nadu' Baba Aparajith amazed opponents with his 117-run knock but it was Shahrukh Khan, batting at number 7, who stole the show on Saturday. He scored his maiden hundred, which came off just 89 balls.
Shahrukh Khan thrashed bowlers all around the park. Notably, he came to bat when his side was struggling behind having lost five wickets at 162. Khan took three balls to open his account, but his first runs came from the boundary, and from thereafter, the all-rounder didn't leave any part of the ground to score runs.
Khan played some of the best shots in cricketing books and surprised everyone with a few unconventional shots. Earlier, Khan took 49 balls to score his fifty and took just 40 more balls to complete his maiden hundred.
Shahrukh Khan surpassed his previous best score of 92* in some style and plundered 20 fours and 10 sixes in his whirlwind knock before Nitish Rana trapped him leg before wicket. When Shahrukh departed, he needed six runs to score his maiden double hundred in first-class cricket.

The hard-hitting all-rounder has recently fetched a bid of ₹9 crores from Punjab Kings (PBKS) in last week's IPL 2022 Auction. He was previously also with the same franchise where he did reasonably well in the limited chances that were given to him. He was recently included in India's ODI squad for the series against West Indies after the hosts were hit by COVID-19 and few injury issues. However, he did not get an opportunity to play in any of the games.
