On Friday, January 3, in the second Test of the two-match series at Newlands in Cape Town, the South African captain, Temba Bavuma, brought up his fourth Test hundred against Pakistan before stumps on day one, helping the team get past 300-run total. After reaching the three-figure mark, Temba Bavuma was quite pumped up, and he celebrated the milestone moment in style in front of the adoring home fans in attendance in Cape Town.

Notably, after returning to the South African cricket team in the leadership role, following an injury issue, Temba Bavuma has been in exceptional batting form, scoring two hundreds and three fifties in just seven Test innings this summer. At lunch on day one of the second Test, South Africa were in a difficult spot, losing three quick wickets, to find themselves at 72/3 in 22.5 overs after electing to bat first on a good pitch.

Watch the video of Temba Bavuma's wild celebration here:

In the second session of play on day one at Newlands, Temba Bavuma and Ryan Rickelton took charge of the South African innings, scoring at over four runs per over without losing their wicket, to take South Africa to 184/3 in 50 overs after the latter brought up the second hundred of his Test career. These two batters kept the momentum going in the third and final session of play on day one in Cape Town, going past 200-run stand before Temba Bavuma scored a yet another Test hundred this summer.

Salman Agha was the pick of the bowlers for Pakistan on day one with his two wickets, including Temba Bavuma’s wicket just a few overs before the close of play, to give the visitors some breathing space, but they ended up conceding 316/4 in 80 overs on day one.
