Australia is taking on India in the third Test of the five-match Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) series down under. Although the series currently stands levelled 1-1 with India putting up a dominant show in Perth, followed by the Aussies coming back in the series, registering a 10-wicket win in Adelaide. While the opening day at The Gabba did not please much with rain playing a spoilsport, the teams returned to action on Day 2.
Although, Indian pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah wrecked the Aussie openers early on Day 2, a combined effort from Nitish Kumar Reddy and Virat Kohli sent Marnus Labuschagne packing. But what followed was a dominating show with Steve Smith and Travis Head stitching a crucial century partnership in the middle.

Head, who was batting at 98, reached his ninth Test hundred in the 69th over of the third Test at The Gabba. After coming in to bat when the Aussie scorecard read 75/3, Head carried his form from Adelaide Test with fantastic strokeplay as he notched his third Test hundred from last six innings against India off Jasprit Bumrah’s over.
Head whipped Bumrah’s low full-toss through wide mid-on to get three and reached his successive Test ton. Soon afterwards, he raised his bat with his helmet perched on the bat handle to celebrate his game-changing hundred in the third Test. His ton came just prior to the Tea break with Head scoring 103 off 118 deliveries.
