Former Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt settled the Ronaldo-Messi debate and picked his three favourite players. The former sprinter was asked to name his top three footballers of all time and was later asked to choose one between Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi. Bolt was at the Laureus World Sports Awards in Madrid on April 22, Monday.
In a video posted by Al-Nassr Zone on X, the 37-year-old was asked to name his three favourite footballers. He said, “Oh my god, I’m just gonna keep it simple I think Pele & Maradona, my favourite footballer is Cristiano Ronaldo, so those are my top 3.” When the interviewer asked him why Ronaldo over Messi, the former athlete had a clear cut answer, and he said, “It’s Ronaldo.”
Usain Bolt praises Jude Bellingham’s impact at Real Madrid
Apart from being an athlete himself, Bolt has also been a huge football fan. During the Laureus Awards red carpet, Bolt praised Jude Bellingham’s impact at Real Madrid as well as re-enacted Bellingham’s open arms goal celebration. Heaping praise on Bellingham, Bolt said, “I think he’s impressed a lot of people, not just me. Coming into Real Madrid, we expected great things from him. But he’s stepped up to a level that we didn’t expect him to be this great.”
He added, “He’s shown his young talent that he will be among the top footballers throughout his career. It’s a pleasure to meet him and just have a conversation with him.”
