Unlike the first two Tests, Australia has managed to flip the script thanks to an incredible bowling performance in the first innings. The spin attack exceeded expectations and managed to bundle Team India for the score of 109 runs.

Veteran star Nathan Lyon picked up three wickets, while newcomer Matthew Kuhnemann picked up his first five-wicket haul as he ran through the Indian batting.  Kuhnemann  managed to dismiss in-form players like Rohit Sharma,  Ravindra Jadeja and  Shreyas Iyer in his spell.

Another spin-rising star Todd Murphy picked one wicket while delivering an incredible spell where he gave 23 runs in six overs and dismissed Virat Kohli. Indian bowlers also had similar performances as R Ashwin and Jadeja combined to pick up seven wickets.  But the Aussie batters managed to put on 197 runs with Khawaja top-scoring with a score of 60.
