Valencia lost 0-1 to Atletico de Madrid in a VAR-affected LaLiga game on Monday. Before the match, Los Ches new-signing Edinson Cavani received a tremendous reception from the club fans at the stadium, the video has surfaced.

LaLiga side Valencia announced the arrival of the Uruguayan poacher at Mestalla ahead of their fixture against Valencia. Cavani has signed a two-year deal at Valencia after his contract at the Premier League club, Manchester United expired.

The fans at Mestalla showed their love for El Matador, who is set to join head coach Gennaro Gattuso at the club, by chanting slogans and his name. Valencia will next host Getafe in LaLiga 2022-23 on Sunday and fans expect Edinson Cavani to be in action in front of the home crowd.

The VAR-struck game was won by Atletico de Madrid as super substitute Antoine Griezmann scored the only goal of the game in the 64th minute. However, Valencia's Yunus Musah scored an absolute banger in the first 30 minutes of the game, which was disallowed after the VAR review for a foul in the build-up.
