In match 52 of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024, the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) are hosting the Gujarat Titans at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. While the two teams last played a match on April 28, this is a reverse fixture with Shubman Gill-led GT aiming to overcome their last defeat.

Earlier in the match, Faf du Plessis won the toss and invited the Titans to bat first. After being invited to bat first, GT posted 147 runs on the board, courtesy disciplined bowling effort from RCB bowlers. During the GT inning, RCB pacer Vijaykumar Vyshak produced a brilliant effort to dismiss Rahul Tewatia.

The incident occurred on the final delivery of Yash Dayal’s over, Tewatia attempted a powerful pull shot but ended up with an edge that soared towards third man. The Indian speedster sprinted to his right and completed a diving catch to dismiss Tewatia and restrict GT at 136/7 after 18 overs.

Happy to get a couple of wickets: Vijaykumar Vyshak

Apart from Vijaykumar Vyshak, who finished with the figures of 2/23 in his 3.3 over spell, Mohammed Siraj (2/29) and Yash Dayal (2/21) also scalped two wickets each. Whereas Cameron Green and Karn Sharma got a wicket each. Speaking after a brilliant spell, Vyshak at the mid-inning break said, “Quite happy as the team has done well. Glad that we could restrict them to 150-odd. Our bowling coach told us to hit the right areas, and we executed our plans.”

“We tried hard with the bouncers, happy that I got a couple of wickets. I have been working hard with fielding coach, that is helping me. Taking one-game at a time. It’s a bit swollen, my both hands are swollen but I am okay. Pretty sure that we will get that total,” he further added.
