Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, the two stalwarts of the Indian cricket, were seen laughing their hearts out at a reimagined fan poster from the iconic Bollywood movie called “Lagaan,” featuring them and their teammates. The viral video of the hilarious moment on the social media platform X is from the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo, where India are playing against Sri Lanka in a three-match ODI series.
Notably, after the conclusion of the first two matches, Sri Lanka are 1-0 ahead in the three-match series due to the spirited performances from their spinners in particular. The first ODI ended in a tie at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo, while the second one saw India suffer a 32-run defeat.
In the reimagined “Lagaan” poster, held up by a fan in the stands, Rohit Sharma, the captain of India, has been added in place of Aamir Khan, the lead actor of the movie. Meanwhile, the poster, titled “Modern day Lagaan Warriors,” also had Virat Kohli and some of his teammates replacing the other featured actors in the movie.
Moreover, in the first two matches of the ODI series, Rohit Sharma looked quite impressive with the bat, scoring quick-fire fifties in tough batting conditions. But, as far as Virat Kohli is concerned, the modern day ODI great had two poor outings, losing his wicket quite early on both occasions.
The third and final ODI of the three-match series will be played at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on Wednesday, August 7.
