Indian batting great Virat Kohli asked his teammates not to celebrate South African captain Dean Elgar as the veteran opener got out in his last Test match. Batting in the second innings, the Proteas were trailing by 98 after a dismissal performance in the bat in the first innings. The hosts were bundled out at a 55 with Mohammed Siraj running through the batting lineup with a six-wicket haul.

India also had a similar batting performance as the visitors were all out at 153 with Virat Kohli top-scoring with a 46-run knock. Then as South Africa came out to bat for the second time, Mukesh Kumar sent out a ball outside off stump which took an outside edge and went straight into the hands of Kohli. As Elgar walked back towards the dressing room, Kohli halted the team's celebration and bowed down to the South African captain.
The Indian number four then also went up for a hug. Like Kohli, other Indian players also went up to Dean Elgar to congratulate him for an incredible career. Check out the video here:
From a cricketing fraternity perspective isn't ideal: Elgar on future of Test cricket
As Elgar got ready for his final Test match, the Proteas opener expressed concern about the future of Test cricket. Speaking in the pre-match conference on Tuesday, Elgar said, "I still think Test cricket will have a future and in speaking to the younger guys in the dressing room, they still live for the format."
"The situation we've been put in from a cricketing fraternity perspective isn't ideal and maybe the team that's selected to go to New Zealand isn't ideal for the conversation of how I see Test cricket," he added.
