The 2025 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) has set the stage ablaze at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. Bollywood superstar, Shah Rukh Khan lit up the evening with his presence at the glittering opening ceremony, including a melodious evening with Shreya Ghosal, star Disha Patani and rapper Karan Aujla.
As the evening progressed, the “King” of Bollywood, was later seen making the KKR sensation, Rinku Singh and star batter and former RCB skipper dance on his songs. While Rinku Singh opted to dance on “Lutt Putt Gaya” alongside Shah Rukh Khan, Kohli was did the hook step of “Jhoome jo Pathan” with the legend.

Virat Kohli left embarassed after SRK’s “Kohli, Kohli” chants at IPL 2025 opener
Before bringing out his quick cameo, India and RCB star was left embarrassed after Shah Rukh Khan broke out into loud “Kohli Kohli” chants during the opening ceremony. Seeing the two legends of their respective genres take the centre-stage, the entire Eden Gardens erupted into loud cheers with the King of Bollywood also joining them.
Speaking of the IPL 2025, the opening clash will see defending champions, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) take on Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at the Eden Gardens. A total of 74 matches will be played across 13 venues for a period of two months, including 12 double-headers. All teams will play a total of 14 league matches, seven at home and seven at away venue.
