India played a thrilling match against Pakistan in the much-anticipated Asia Cup opener and beat the arch-rivals by five wickets. There were many talking points from the game including Virat Kohli’s return to cricketing action. The star India batter played for the first time after 17 July 2022 and fared decently. Kohli scored a 34-ball 35 before perishing to Mohammad Nawaz.

His innings proved crucial for India as the team built on the start and finished the game with two balls to spare. Although the former India captain was dismissed, cameras captured him many a time during the game as well as after the game. In one such video, Kohli was captured interacting with Pakistan’s Haris Rauf and gifting his signed jersey to the pacer.

The video was also shared on team India’s official social media handle. “The match may be over but moments like these shine bright. A heartwarming gesture by @imVkohli as he hands over a signed jersey to Pakistan's Haris Rauf post the #INDvPAK game,” read the caption of the post consisting the video.

Coming back to Kohli’s innings, it was a nervy start for the 33-year-old as he got a thick edge on the second delivery he faced. However, Fakhar Zaman failed to hold on to the sharp chance and Kohli survived. There were many mistimed shots and inside edges post the dropped catch but Kohli held his ground and slowly built his innings. With the ball not coming onto the bat that well, the right-handed batter cautiously played his shots.

Kohli hit three boundaries and one six in his innings before perishing to a loopy delivery from Mohammad Nawaz. The batter tried to take on the left-arm orthodox as he stepped out and slogged it towards the long-off boundary. However, Nawaz was smart enough to not give pace on the ball and as a result, Kohli could not time his shot and handed an easy catch to the fielder.
