Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) legend Virat Kohli is seen in a jovial mood prior to his team’s contest against Mumbai Indians (MI) at the Wankhede Stadium, in the Indian Premier League (IPL), on April 7. RCB will endeavour to be back to the winning ways after facing an eight-wicket drubbing at the hands of Gujarat Titans (GT) at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. Bengaluru will want their star batter Kohli to have a blast against Mumbai and regain his form. The veteran faced criticism for his poor batting innings of 31 off 30 and seven off six against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Gujarat Titans (GT) respectively.
However, Kohli has looked unfazed by his criticism as he has been enjoying in the RCB camp before the big game. Talking to X, RCB posted a clip with the audio of WWE superstar John Cena’s entry song ‘The time is now.’ The video features Kohli, who can be seen in joy and shaking his feet with Tim David. The 36-year-old also emulated Cena’s ‘You can’t see me.’ He also donned a ring in his finger to draw a parallel between him and Cena.
RCB will look to breach MI’s fort after 10 years
RCB haven’t won any match against MI at the Wankhede Stadium for the last 10 years. Their last victory against the five-champion side at the venue came in 2015 under Virat Kohli’s captaincy. In 2024, when both teams met each other at the iconic stadium, Mumbai crushed RCB by seven wickets.
This year, Mumbai are on backfoot after losing three off their four matches played thus far. RCB will look to stand tall, this time, to add salt to MI’s injuries. Mumbai will be under massive pressure to continue their dominance against RCB at home and make a comeback in the tournament.
