India registered a thrilling six-wicket victory over Australia in the rain-affected eight-over per side match. Australia had a great batting performance, thanks to Aaron Finch and Mathew Wade’s blistering knocks. But the Men in Blue had an even better response as Rohit Sharma's 46* in 20 balls and Dinesh Karthik's quick-finish helped India cross the finish line.

The second T20I in Nagpur was started after a big delay caused by the condition of the outfield. Because of this wait, players were confined to their dressing rooms. Outside the Indian dressing room, a group of fans spotted former Indian captain Virat Kohli and fast bowler Harshal Patel and started chanting RCB! RCB!, referring to their IPL franchise - Royal Challengers Bangalore. Reacting to these chants, Virat funnily pointed to his India jersey and reminded the fans that this is an international game and not IPL.

Talking about the playing conditions, the ground staff at the VCA Stadium worked extremely to get the ground ready for the match. The rains didn’t stop over the last few days in Nagpur because of which the outfield and the run-up area were still wet. However, the ground staff prepared the venue for some game. Their relentless work of over seven hours helped get the ground ready for an 8-over shootout.

In the post-match presentation, Rohit Sharma lauded the efforts of the ground staff as he said, “They did a phenomenal job to have a game. Groundsmen have been here since 1.30 pm to get the outfield ready. So, the credit to the whole management It’s not easy. The conditions were not easy. So, great effort from them to at least get some sort of game going for the fans who turned out in great numbers. We love coming here and play so, a lot of credit to the groundsmen.”
