Amid the surging talks on the bleak future of Erik Ten Hag with Manchester United, WWE Commentator Wad e Barrett made a brutal comment on the former Dutch player during a live show on WWE Smackdown. Ten Hag’s United are set to appear in the summit clash of the FA Cup final 2024 on Saturday against their city rivals Manchester City.
Owing to the continuous dismal returns by the 54-year-old, the club’s owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe has decided to move on from the manager, who has been with the team since 2022. It is believed that even if United manages to clinch the final on May 25, Ten Hag is likely to be sacked. The Red Devils have already identified a few potential replacements in Mauricio Pochettino, Thomas Tuchel, and Graham Potter.
Wade Barrett trolls Paul Heyman by comparing him to Erik ten Hag
On the weekend’s Smackdown show, British announcer Barrett took a bold jibe at former Dutch centre-back and compared him to Paul Heyman, The Bloodline manager, when he walked towards the ring. He said, “Paul Heyman is basically The Bloodline’s answer to Manchester United’s Erik ten Hag.” he further added, “He’s still got a job but for how much longer?”
The statement follows the possible ouster of Heyman from The Bloodline for Solo Sikoa, who is likely to take control of the operations. On the other hand, Erik ten Hag would like to give a major trophy to the United after failing to make it in the Premier League. United finished eighth in the current season as well as ended up last in the Champions League group.
