Premier League club West Ham United defeated Dutch side AZ Alkmaar 3-1 on aggregate to qualify for the UEFA Europa Conference League final. The Hammers scored a late goal in the second leg of their semifinal against AZ to win the game on Thursday night at the AFAS Stadion in Alkmaar, Netherlands. However, the home fans were not impressed with their team's loss and attacked the reserved section for West Ham players' families and friends in the stadium.
After taking a 2-1 lead at the London Stadium on May 12 in the first leg of their UECL semi-final against Alkmaar, West Ham midfielder Pablo Fornals scored a late goal in stoppage time to end the game on a winning note.
While the friends and families of the West Ham players celebrated the victory in the away game, the angry home fans rushed toward the hospitality section of the stadium where the away fans were sitting. While security tried to separate the home fans, many West Ham players were forced to intervene and defend their loved ones. The horrific scene was recorded by many fans and has gone viral on social media.

After winning the UECL semifinal on Thursday night, West Ham United are scheduled to face Serie A side Fiorentina at the Eden Arena in Prague, Czech Republic in the final. While West Ham defeated AZ Alkmaar, Fiorentina knocked out Swiss club FC Basel 4-3 across two legs to qualify for the Europa Conference League final, taking place on June 7.
