Talking about the game, The West Indian team had some moments of brilliance, like the catch, but failed to capitalise on them and push for the win. In the first Innings, Windies captain Hayley Williams and Shemaine Campbelle produced two solid batting performances. But without the support of other players, they only managed to put up 135.
In return, England came in to bat with ferocity and posted 37 runs in just three overs. Then after losing the quick wickets, the Lionesses took control of the game thanks to solid performances by captain Heather Knight and Natalie Sciver, leading to a win by seven wickets.
The England number four ended up with a score of 40 runs in 32 balls and took home the Player of the match award. Reacting to her performance and the team effort, Sciver said, “It was a bit tricky on this two-paced pitch. Had to see the team home. We want to keep walking towards danger, want to be aggressive, got to take the team over the line. Need to keep the team going and keep going.”
