At the beginning of the segment on WWE SmackDown, Carmelo Hayes had a one-on-one match with Austin Theory, which saw both superstars exchanging blows in the early stages. Theory brought out his bag of tricks to gain the advantage by running away before taking a cheap shot at Hayes to send him out to the floor.
