On Sunday, September 8, Riyan Parag and Yash Dayal were embroiled in a pulsating battle during the Duleep Trophy clash between India A and India B at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. During his brief innings on the fourth and final day of the match, Riyan Parag smashed a six against Yash Dayal before the left-arm pacer nicked him off through to the keeper, and it sparked a huge celebration from Dayal, who screamed in the face of Parag, giving him a send-off.

Notably, India B had set a very difficult target of 275 runs for India A in the Duleep Trophy clash on the fourth and final day, with the pitch still offering a lot of assistance to the fast bowlers. After Yash Dayal dismissed Mayank Agarwal for 3 off 4, with Nitish Kumar Reddy taking a diving catch to his right in the slips, Riyan Parag walked into bat, and he immediately acknowledged that the conditions were tough to bat defensively, targeting the opposition bowlers.

Riyan Parag scored 31 off 18 with one four and three maximums before Yash Dayal dismissed him

Riyan Parag smashed a couple of sixes off Mukesh Kumar and one six against Yash Dayal, to get India A off to a flyer in the run chase. It led to an argument between Parag and Dayal at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium before the pacer had the last laugh, dismissing him for 31 off 18 with Rishabh Pant taking a simple catch behind the stumps.

Following that, India B bowlers picked up a flurry of wickets to reduce India A to 99/6 before KL Rahul and Kuldeep Yadav stitched together a 42-run stand. After KL Rahul was dismissed for 57 off 121, Akash Deep came out to bat to put together an innings of 43 off 42, but it wasn’t enough as India A were bundled out for 198, losing to India B with a margin of 76 runs.

Just a day prior, India C had defeated India D by four wickets in the other Duleep Trophy clash inside three days, to register their first points of the competition. In round two of the Duleep Trophy, India A will be taking on India D, while India B will be competing against India C.
