After “you are coming too slow” sledge in the opening Test of the five-match Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) 2024-25 series, Yashasvi Jaiswal reignited his on-field banter with Australian veteran pacer Mitchell Starc on the final day of the Boxing Day Test. Coming down to open the innings alongside Rohit Sharma at the MCG, Jaiswal was seen bringing back his altercation with the Aussie pacer after the latter opted to switch the bails.

The moment took place during the second session of Day 5. The drama began when Starc switched the bails at the non-striker’s end where Jaiswal was standing. The Indian opener, who was unfazed, immediately went towards the stumps and switched the bails back with Starc returning to his position to bowl the next delivery.

Two deliveries later in the same over, Starc and Jaiswal were seen exchanging some words, adding spice to their on-field banter which began at the start of the series. Following the incident, Starc asked Jaiswal if he believed in superstitions. The 23-year-old Indian star replied, “I believe in myself, that is why I am here.” “Then why change it back if you are not superstitious?,” Starc questioned Jaiswal.

To this the Indian batter dropped a savage reply, stating, “I am just enjoying this moment in my life," video of which has been going viral on social media. It is to be noted that the bail flip antics were started by Stuart Broad, who was hoping for luckn during the Ashes series in England.
