The rivalry between Indian and Pakistan in sports, precisely cricket is globally known. When things seem to be settling down between the two neighbouring nations, a new controversy rises up with contrasting opinions from across the boundaries. In a similar stance, former Pakistan cricketer Javed Miandad has once again hit out at hit after his comment on Pakistan’s travel to India for ODI World Cup 2023.
In the latest update, the former Pakistan captain made a bold statement stating that Pakistan is a better team than India and their cricket is also better. This statement for the 66-year-old comes just a day after he claimed that India should go to hell if they cannot travel to Pakistan.
“We are better than them (India). Out cricket is better than them,” he had said while addressing the media. “Pakistan cricket is bigger…we are still producing quality players. So I don’t think even if we don’t go to India it will make any difference to us,” he had added.
Earlier he asserted that if India doesn’t send their team to Pakistan, the Men in Green should also refrain from travelling to Pakistan. “Pakistan has been to India in 2012 and even in 2016, now it is the turn of the Indians to come here,” he said in the video which has been doing rounds lately.
Notably, all these comments come after the BCCI accepted the hybrid model for the Asia Cup 2023. However, with Pakistan and Sri Lanka jointing hosting the 50-over edition for the continental tournament, the arch-rivals will be seen taking on each other in the island nation.
