Pakistan star pacer  Shaheen Shah Afridi, who suffered an injury in the season opener of Asia Cup 2023, said that as a team, Pakistan is well prepared, and is hoping to play good cricket in the tournament. Afridi, who missed the previous education of the continental showpiece, said that he is excited about the tournament and is looking forward to delivering a good performance.

In a video uploaded by the Pakistan Cricket Board  (PCB), Afridi said that as a team, Pakistan have prepared well for the marquee event, and they are hoping to play good cricket and win their third title. The Pakistani pacer said, “I missed the last Asia Cup due to injury. We have played good Test cricket, and despite the gap in between, boys played franchise cricket, and recently we played ODI cricket.”

Speaking about winning the tournament, Afridi said, “We have prepared really well for the Asia Cup and hopefully we will play good cricket and win the tournament.” Afridi also threw a light on the team bonding and said, “All the players in the team support each other. Since we spend more time with each other than our families, we try to back each other and do the best for our team.”

Notably, in the PAK vs NEP game, the left-arm pacer went off the field after suffering an injury and having a discussion with the team physio. However, there is no update on his injury yet and there is still confusion if he will play in the India-Pakistan clash or not. Pakistan began their campaign in the tournament by registering a 238-run win over Nepal in the season opener.
