The West Indies batter Kavem Hodge was heard hilariously imitating the third umpire on the stump mic during a break in the Australian second innings. When one of the technicians on the live broadcast was getting the LED stumps for the second Test match to resume, Kavem Hodge saw the funny side of the moment.
When the hilarious turn of events happened at the Gabba in Brisbane on Day 3, Australia were in pursuit of the 216-run target set by the West Indies. The visitors were bundled out for 193 runs in their second innings after Shamar Joseph suffered a nasty blow to his toe from a Mitchell Starc, forcing him to retire hurt.

As the technician was changing the bail on the LED stumps, Kavem Hodge crouched down to speak into the stump mic, and remarked, “TV Umpire to the director, we have a review for bail change. Give me your best bail angle. Seems like a fair bail.” The comments from the West Indies player, who was laughing at his handiwork, left the technician and commentators upstairs in splits too.
Moreover, the stumps on Day 3 at the Gabba in Brisbane were called shortly afterward, and at that point, Australia were 60/2, needing a further 156 runs to win the two-match Test series by 2-0. Steve Smith, who is 33 unbeaten, will be walking out to bat with Cameron Green on 9, to start play on the all-important Day 4 of the Test match.
If Australia manage to win the Test match against West Indies tomorrow, then they will be ending their home Test summer on a high with five straight victories.
