The Rohit Sharma-led Team India are all set to take on five-time world champions, Australia at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad for the ultimate title on Sunday, 19th November. While the Men in Blue will enter this fixture on the back of 10 consecutive wins, the Aussies are also coming on the back of eight wins on the trot after losing their opening games against India and South Africa.  

But ahead of this all-important game, Team India skipper Rohit Sharma while talking at the pre-match presser on the eve of the game opened on the role of Rahul Dravid and the influence he has on the team. Speaking of the head coach and recalling his performance from playing days, Rohit asserted that the team wants to win it for Dravid.

“Rahul Dravid wants to be a part of big occasion & we want to win it for him,” skipper Rohit Sharma said at the pre-match press conference on Saturday, 18 November 2023.

The 36-year-old Indian skipper also spoke that when the team takes on the field on Sunday, 19th November, the ten wins do not matter. “It won’t matter tomorrow that we are coming on a back of 10 wins. If we don’t perform tomorrow, it will all be waste,” Rohit stated.

The veteran Indian opener also clarified that the Playing XI for the crucial game against Australia hasn’t been finalised yet and all 15 players are open to play. “We haven’t decided on the Playing XI yet. We will decide it tomorrow,” he said, adding that 12-13 player are fixed. He also added that it will be a nice feeling if India wins the Cricket World Cup 2023.
