Earlier, both Dhawan and Chakravarthy trended on social media sites on March 4, as Team India's fans got confused and mistakenldy thanked the actor for dismissing Travis Head instead of the bowler during the first semi-final of the Champions Trophy 2025. It was India’s spin-bowling sensation Varun Chakravarthy as he got rid of the Aussie southpaw in the crucial knockout clash played at the iconic Dubai International Stadium.
Both Chakravarthy and Dhawan share the same first name "Varun" which led to the confusion among fans. A day after India’s success against the Aussies, Chakravarthy took to social media and posted a comment on the actor’s Instagram post writing, “Well bowled bhaiya.” Chakravarthy’s remark got a lot of reactions from fans of both actor and cricketer.
Chakravarthy’s form will be essential for India to cross the final hurdle in Dubai
With the four-wicket win against Australia in the semi-final, India have become the first team to qualify for the final of the tournament. Chakravarthy chipped-in with two wickets in his team’s success. The Indian team management will expect the 33-year-old to continue his brilliant form in the final and deliver impactful numbers with the ball.
Noting conditions in Dubai, India are heavily relying on their spinners and Chakravarthy will look to do his job efficiently along with renowned spinners Ravindra Jadeja, Kuldeep Yadav, and Axar Patel. In the final, India will lock horns with either New Zealand or South Africa as both sides are currently squaring off against each other in the second semi-final getting played at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium.
In the massive knockout game in Lahore, the Kiwi side has looked brilliant while batting first. Rachin Ravindra struck his fifth ODI ton off 93 balls and delivered an ideal start to his team. Kane Williamson, who departed after hitting 102 off 94, also completed his hundred in just 91 deliveries.
