In big news coming, West Indies opener John Campbell has been handed four-year ban for doping violation. The Jamaica Anti-Doping Commission (JADCO) has laid the charges on the batter.

The Jamaica body has accused John Campbell of refusing to provide a blood sample in Kingston, when asked in April. Notably, a three-member independent panel sent out an 18-page formal decision followed by a charge of refusing or failing to submit the blood sample.

Campbell has breached JADCO rule 2.3 as the organisation’s decision read, “The panel is persuaded to a comfortable degree of satisfaction that the athlete committed an anti-doping rule violation”.

“In the circumstances of this case, the athlete is ineligible for a period of four years,” the statement further added.

The 29-year-old has played 20 Tests, six ODIs and two T20Is for the Caribbean side. His last international match came in June against Bangladesh.
